I finished building Forge v4.0!

Forge with fire

I finally finished my Forge v4.0! I started this project last fall, and had built most of the structure, but the weather got too cold and wet to continue applying the refractory cement inside the forge. Well, I finally got around to it the other day, finished the refractory cementing, and some side structure layout, and fired it up to set the cement! Yay!

The only problem I’ve run across is the power outlet on the porch has gone off, and needs to be replaced. The circuit breaker is good, but no power comes out from the sockets. I think the GFCI outlet’s internal breaker is stuck, and won’t reset. Without power, I can’t power the blower system to use the forge for any lengthy use. For my burn process, I used a tiny, handheld, battery operated, blower to blow through one of the 2 air pipes.

All I have left to do is fix that darn power outlet, and replace the blower pipe ends with removable caps, and I’ll be back in business!
